The French passion for cycling, is well catered for in Limousin, with many scenic cycling routes through both woodland and around lakes, the local Lac Sainte Pardoux has an excellent bike trail around it.. There are races you can complete in too, both in Ambazac and at Sainte Pardoux.

We often cycle from the Château, just to enjoy the countryside. There are hills that younger children may find a bit difficult, but the roads are very quiet, making the experience of being on the road less intimidating for children, and a good place to learn road traffic awareness.

There is also the slightly bizarre, though fun "rail-biking" where you cycle along disused rail tracks on bike trucks (I don't know what to call them!).
 
Please note, if you choose to bring bikes, we have a secure storage area. Please let us know if you would like to hire bikes, and bring your own helmets as getting the correct size (especially for children) is important.
