The Chateau

New for Summer 2009

Le Catalpa is a newly renovated two bedroom house with a large living room and brand new kitchen. Ideal for families, but would also suit a couple or  four adults. It has its own garden with garden furniture and a barbecue  for enjoying dining al fresco on those balmy summer evenings. The house is part of the Chateau’s old stone built farmhouse and benefits from being within the grounds of the Chateau, so guests can also enjoy the extensive grounds (86 acres). The house looks out to a pair of ancient Catalpa trees (Indian bean trees) which reclines elegantly over the grass and to the Chateau. The house is far enough from the Chateau to enjoy its own privacy.

Le Catalpa is decorated in the chic country-modern style and has an impressive granite fireplace fitted with a wood burner supplied with firewood for cosy winter evenings. The house is tiled throughout with attractive creamy-white “blanc cassé” rustic tiles. The front door opens into the living room with generous space to relax in, and opens to the right into the kitchen, making for relaxed dining where you can chat and sip a glass of wine while you enjoy preparing the fabulous produce available, or simply warming up a Chateau prepared meal. The bedrooms are located at the rear of the house as is the luxurious bathroom.

We welcome families and make it as easy as possible to travel with younger family members.

Self-Catering for Softies

We want you to enjoy your holiday, so providing a bit extra can really help. Lets face it self catering is great for being able to accommodate children’s routines, and for when you just don’t feel like going out for a meal – and is an economical way to holiday, but it isn’t a holiday for everyone if you have to cook and clean up every day! To help you enjoy the best about France a little more, you can choose the following options:

  1. dinner at home made by us, you just keep it warm until you’re ready to eat! You can choose to have a main course, or main course, cheese and dessert
  2. dinner at the Chateau
  3. breakfast bread, croissants etc delivered fresh by 8.30
  4. breakfast at the Chateau
  5. babysitting
  6. French lessons (for children or adults, including business French)
  7. extra cleaning  (this can be daily or twice a week)

Please let us know if you interested in any of the above and we’ll let you know the cost.

We always provide:

  1. a starter hamper which contains the basics to get you going
  2. a welcome tea/coffee at the Chateau
  3. advice about the area
  4. recommendations
