The Chateau

We have three holiday cottages available, all newly renovated, spacious and extremely comfortable.  If you prefer self-catering, then choose one of our gîtes and you’ll get the most out of your holiday because our houses are well-equipped, modern, whilst retaining the charm of the original buildings and set in some of the most beautiful countryside in France.

We have horses, sheep, cows and chickens on site.

Do you sometimes find that you only discover the best restaurant/beach/market when you’ve nearly finished your holiday? You can avoid wasting time with us here to help and advise you about the region, and enjoy your holiday as soon as you arrive! We’re happy to give you as much or as little assistance as you need.

What make our Gîtes great for families?

We welcome families and make it as easy as possible to travel with younger family members. We have plenty of kid’s equipment, and space for children to really feel what most people regard as an “old-fashioned  freedom” where they can roam and enjoy being outdoors.
We can help organise activities for you and your kids and if you need an evening away from the little ones, then we can help with a babysitter too!

Food at Ribagnac

For breakfast there are a couple of options; we are happy to pick up your bread and croissants for you in the morning (for 8.30) or you can have breakfast at the Chateau. Chateau breakfasts are from 8.30 onwards until 10.00 and cost euros 10 per person.

You can also book dinner when we have other Chateau guests dining. Please let us know the day before you’d like to eat. Dinner is five courses and includes aperitif, wine and tea/coffee and is 45 euros per person.  Drinks before dinner are served at 8.30pm. Children can also eat at the Chateau and kids dinner is served at 6.30pm. Children’s meals are 10 euros.

We also have “dinner in the oven” (really popular, and especially handy for your first night) - three courses for two adults for euros 60. We’ll let you know what time you can pop in to collect your supper from the Chateau.
We also have an excellent wine list for the odd bottle (or two!), and guests may also purchase wine by the case or half case at two-thirds of the wine list price.

Le Catalpa – Family Gîte

Le Catalpa is part of the Chateau’s old stone built farmhouse. It has two bedrooms and a large living room and kitchen. Ideal for families, but would also suit a couple or four adults. It has its own garden with garden furniture and a barbecue for enjoying dining al fresco on those balmy summer evenings. The house looks out to a pair of ancient Catalpa trees (Indian bean trees) which recline elegantly over the grass and to the Chateau. The house is far enough from the Chateau to enjoy its own privacy.

Le Catalpa is decorated in the chic country-modern style and has an impressive granite fireplace fitted with a wood burner supplied with firewood for cosy winter evenings. The house is tiled throughout with attractive creamy-white “blanc cassé” rustic tiles. The front door opens into the living room with generous space to relax in, and opens to the right into the kitchen, making for relaxed dining where you can chat and sip a glass of wine while you enjoy preparing the fabulous produce available, or simply warming up a Chateau prepared meal. The bedrooms are located at the rear of the house as is the luxurious bathroom.

The house benefits from being within the grounds of the Chateau, so guests can also enjoy the extensive grounds (86 acres).

Le Cedre

Originally built as an artists studio and workshop for porcelainiers, this attractive cottage is adjacent to the Chateau, and overlooks the vegetable garden and one of our gorgeous blue cedars. Covered in climbing roses in the summer, this lovely property is ideal for taking advantage of the Chateau’s huge grounds.
There is an open plan living space and kitchen with dining area on the ground floor with slate-style tiles, which is decorated in modern-retro style. The spacious first floor has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds, a bathroom and a nook for a cot. The huge windows create lovely lighting and we still have the original chestnut flooring. There is a mysterious fragment of decorated stone set in the wall, which we think came from the Abbey at Grandmont, which was destroyed during the Revolution. There is both an external and internal staircase (stair gate available). There is a garden area to the rear and outdoor seating for six, with the use of a barbecue to take advantage of those lovely summer evenings!

Les Rosiers

Les Rosiers is a gorgeous cottage in the grounds of a Maison de Maître. The cottage sleeps seven. This spacious house is not in the grounds of the Chateau, but guests are still free to enjoy the Chateau’s park, and also to take advantage of the dining options available and other services. It is 2km down the road from the Chateau, and set back from the road, down a short gravel drive.

The pretty stone built cottage has an authentic French feel about it, while also being modern and stylish. The grand oak beams are a sky blue, and there are French windows in all the ground floor rooms which bathe the rooms in light. There is a lovely combination of exposed stonework and white plaster to give a warm country style.

The downstairs has rich but subtle apricot tiles throughout, and there is a huge living space with seating for six and a sleigh bed (a generous single). There is a dining table in the living area and a table for card games or simply writing postcards. Off the living area is one double bedroom in white and pale blue and French windows opening onto the private garden. It has an ensuite bathroom.
The second floor has room for children to play and charming twin white cast iron beds with bright skylights and another bedroom with a double bed and rich raspberry coloured beams. Wooden flooring throughout. There is a spacious second bathroom. A stair gate is available on request.

There is a picturesque garden in front of the cottage and outdoor seating for six – a lovely suntrap for relaxing or watching the children playing.
