The chateau’s interior has gorgeous wooden
floors and panelling, complemented by impressive fireplaces
and luxurious furnishings. The six towers present
charming
feature rooms, including a wonderfully secluded library.
Breathtaking views of the countryside can be glimpsed
from all the stained glass windows. Guests can discover
their own favourite place for reading, relaxing or
enjoying
a drink in the spacious living room and the halls where
bookcases and armchairs are set on each floor. Our
suites
are spacious and individual in character, and all are
wonderfully restful.
The Chateau is furnished (where appropriate) with antiques, some original to the chateau, others discovered and some rescued and restored. We have combed brocantes and markets to find pieces that appealed to us, and still enjoy browsing for special pieces.
Chateau Ribagnac is set in 35 hectares of gardens,
meadows and woodland and is surrounded by unspoilt Limousin
countryside. Guests can explore the beautiful grounds
and relax by the lakes, and pause
to enjoy the cool sweet waters of our own spring. There
is also a charming kitchen garden.

The chateau changes over the
year with the seasons, allowing guests to enjoy a link
with nature, though the inspirational spring blooms
of the fruit trees and rhododendra, the joy of summer
and its wild flowers and hydrangeas to the stunning
autumnal colours of trees, ferns and heather and the
crisp clear days of winter. Perhaps you will catch a glimpse of our deer, hear the cuckoos, woodpeckers and numerous owls, marvel at the birds of prey or witness the migration of the cranes.
There is an unsupervised play area for children on the grounds.
For the 2007 season, we have a small tearoom, located on the mezzanine, for guests. There is a fridge, kettle, bottle warmer and sterilizer and sink, as well as tea, coffee and tisanes. An ironing board, iron and trouser press are also available. |
